ABOUT
Bryony Ella is an interdisciplinary artist working with an embodied ecology practice, somewhere in the liminal space between science and spirituality. She ‘wild draws’ in nature, plays with paints and patterns in the studio and co-creates public realm installations that explore concepts of belonging in and to the natural world.
Ella’s practice brings together different cosmologies, narratives and perspectives that seek to move us beyond human-defined borders and binaries. Often working in collaboration with academics and other artists, she foregrounds bodily, sensorial and eco-centric experiences of environments and ecosystems, experimenting with diverse mediums and spatial and temporal dimensions to create artworks that celebrate the human body as an experience that is organic, porous and intimately connected to all living systems.
